No excuses!

Well, as you can see I have not been very good about doing this blog. To be honest, I think I am too busy in my life to find time to write about it. I need to find the time, no excuses!

The kids finished up school last week, so the past two weeks have been a bunch of year end activities. One of the highlights was a concert at the middle school where Keli is in the sixth grade. I left the concert thinking that any person who thinks that God needs to be removed from the school should have been at the concert. The kids sang "Every time I feel the Spirit". That song changed the feeling in that gym. There were a bunch of happy, spirited children singing. Awesome!

Ana also had a concert at the Stephen's Performing Arts Center. She plays the flute. The concert was excellent. I have to say I am enjoying watching the high school band program. It reminds me of when I would go to watch Faith at her band concerts in high school. We also attended the band awards night. Ana received a letter in band and this was her freshman year. To do this she participated in pep band, marching band, solo ensemble, symphonic band, attended all performances and also did Pipes and drum corp (she is learning the bag pipes). She also received a medal and two pins for some of these accomplishments.

Last week we attended Ronnie's pack meeting for cub scouts. Ronnie just recently turned 10 so he became a Webelo at this meeting. He also received several of his patches/achievements. There was something like 5 arrow points, his Bear badge, and three other patches. He had lost his book for a while so most of these achievements had been earned throughout the year. The boys all did a skit about fables/tall tales. Ronnie dressed up and made a beard to represent Rip VanWinkle. It was quite amusing.

The ultimate of year end activities was for Kire. This was her final year end activity for her high school career. Kire graduated from high school on Thursday, May 27th! This has been a difficult year for Kire, so I was especially pleased to be at the Holt Arena to watch her graduate. Kire will be attending Boise State University for the fall semester. She plans on majoring in Political Science. We wish all the best for her as she heads out on her new adventure in life.
