My FAVORITE cowboy!

Who knew that this girl from back east would fall for a cowboy from the west? I am forever blessed that I did.

Jeff and I will celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary on August 8th this year. In some ways I can't believe it has been that long and other ways it seems like we have always been together. I am looking forward to spending an eternity with him and so grateful that he loves me in such a way that makes me want to spend an eternity with him. There are some who said that we would not last more than 3 years because statistically people's second marriage usually ends in divorce by then. My parents proved that statistic wrong. They have been married almost 43 years and it was my dad's second marriage. I know that Jeff and I will beat that statistic as well.

Jeff is a cutie, look at the picture, need I say more! He makes me feel like a lady, even when I don't act like a lady. He still opens doors for me and gets the chair for me - it didn't end when we got married! Jeff is a gentleman, it's not a trait that is very common these days. He is intelligent and hard working. He is currently working full time and going to school full time for his Master's degree in Health Care Administration. He just recently made the President's list - 4.0 GPA. He stays up into the wee hours of the morning to get his school work done and then gets up to go to work. He sets a good example of how if you want something in life you need to work for it, and he does.

Jeff has helped me to grow spiritually. One of the most important things which drew me to Jeff was his love for his Savior. There is nothing more beautiful to me than a man that values the gospel and exercises the priesthood. So many people take those privileges for granted. I do not. It brings great peace to me to know that when there is a trial we can rely on faith. It is easier to do when you believe that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers.

Jeff has unleashed my inner adrenaline junkie! He opened my world to the wonder of snowmobiles. We have enjoyed motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles and jet skis. Jeff likes to have fun and has no problem with me going with him and playing with the boys. (once a tomboy always a tomboy) We don't need the toys to have a good time. We have spent more than one date night just going to dinner and then talking for hours. That is the sign of a true friend, he is my best friend.

I am blessed to have Jeff in my life. I am grateful for his willingness to be a father figure for my children. Jeff shows love, concern and care for all of the children. He plays with them, disciplines them, worships with them, learns with them and prays with them. I am grateful for the example he sets for me and my family.

This is the first installment of the important people in my life. This will be intermittent as there are so many who have touched my life. I started with Jeff because he is my favorite!
